New Years Eve Nail Trends

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

I think we’re all ready to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021….. if only 2021 would be a fresh start, but hey a girl can wish. Your New Years’ Eve plans might not be as glamorous and eventful as years past but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get glammed up for a midnight toast on the couch. Make sure your champagne selfie is on point with a NYE worthy set of nails. Read on for some NYE nail trend inspiration.

1. Minimalist Abstract Art

Abstract nail art is a trend that has been enduring since this past summer. Winter, however, brought a little twist to this trend, and instead of bright colors inspired by the long summer days, minimalist, somber shades are growing in popularity. You should definitely give this modern look a try if you’re not a fan of glitter or, simply, you don’t want to deal with glitter removal (we get it!).

2. Gold Leaf Art

You can’t go wrong with a little sparkle for your New Year celebrations, and whether you prefer keeping your nails clear or adding some color, some gold leaf will give you a refined look with minimal effort. The foil doesn’t attract as much attention as plain glitter, but you can be sure that your nails will not go unnoticed.

3. Reverse French

If you love to see fresh takes on classic looks, then you’ll love the reverse French manicure. If you’re going for a classy, sober look then you’ll want to stick to the usual nude and white combination, but if you love to incorporate some color in your mani (or want your nails to match what you’ll be wearing on December 31st) then this style leaves a lot of room for creativity. To be sure you’re getting perfect cuticle arches, use a glitter press.

4. Classy Ombre

Ombre nails are the perfect look year-round, which means they are also the perfect companions for new-year celebrations (and an easy Christmas to new years transition). We do believe that a little sparkle is necessary to greet 2021 in style, so try adding a few crystals that will automatically make your mani look a lot more festive. If you avoid ombre in fear of wasting product, then you will love our saving tray.

5. Opalescent shimmer

If you have little time to spend on your nails but you’re not willing to give up that sparkle that makes New Year’s Eve all the more exciting, then you should definitely consider a solid, shimmery look. It takes very little time and effort, which makes it easy to squeeze into a busy schedule, and its high-shine finish will provide you with all the sparkle you need.

6. Matte Glitter

The unusual combination of glitter and a matte topcoat gives breathtaking results. This look allows you to show off the iridescence of your favorite glitter while also making it look less flashy: they are the perfect accent if you are wearing a statement piece that you want to complement with your nails or a toned-down quarantine glam style.
